The old septic tank of a school in Trynserum from the 1960s no longer met the requirements and had to be replaced. At that time, the municipality chose KLARO technology from a large number of competitors.
At the time of construction, the school had 90 students served by 18 teachers. Based on the calculation basis for office employees, 3 pupils/teacher were calculated with 1 population equivalent.
In addition to the school, some residential units, vacation homes and a church were also integrated into the system, resulting in a total of 60 PE. Most of the wastewater is generated during the day. It is temporarily stored in the buffer area of the first two tanks. The evening and night cycles ensure that the water is processed by the next morning and the buffer is emptied for the next school day.
Four Carat S septic tanks were chosen because they were stackable and could thus be delivered to Sweden to save space. There, the tanks were assembled by a specialist partner and the KLARO setup kit was installed. The plant also has a phosphate precipitation system, which is standard in Sweden.
