Project overview:
In April 2025, a KLARO Container. One+ plant was successfully commissioned in Waldbillig, Luxembourg. The existing local wastewater treatment plant had become too small over time and was no longer able to meet the increased demands. Since the construction of a new permanent wastewater treatment plant in the neighboring town is planned but still years away, the container plant was installed as an interim solution. The plant consists of five 40-foot high-cube containers and was customized to fit the local conditions. The wastewater is routed to the container plant via an existing rainwater overflow basin, with a radar sensor controlling the feed. This buffering enables reliable treatment even during strong hydraulic inflow peaks – especially during rainy weather.
As the treated wastewater is discharged directly into a water body, increased effluent requirements apply, which are reliably met with the help of the latest plant technology and additional modules such as phosphate precipitation and desludging.
Solution with KLARO wastewater treatment plants:
- Mobile KLARO Container. One+ in five 40-foot containers
- Serves as an interim solution
- Designed for 1,000 PE, 150 m³ per day
- Additional KLARO WebMonitor for remote control of the plant
- Additional phosphate elimination and desludging line for best effluent values
