Project overview:
The Chinese city of Pingdingshan was looking for an efficient wastewater treatment system that could treat both the domestic wastewater from a secondary school and that from the public toilets in the surrounding villages. The challenge was to cope with relatively large volumes of wastewater of around 500 cubic metres per day, with fluctuations in the amount of wastewater generated due to school operations. In addition, the treated wastewater had to meet strict quality standards as it was to be discharged into nearby rivers.
