Project overview:
Despite significant progress in recent years, a large proportion of the population in Kenya still does not have access to an adequate water infrastructure. Depending on whether a connection to the sewer system makes economic sense, wastewater treatment can be either centralised or decentralised. In this case, a boarding school for young people was not connected to the sewer system and therefore needed an environmentally friendly and efficient treatment system to process the wastewater from around 400 students and teachers. Planning for this project began about six months before construction started. Based on the customer's plans, which took into account the space available and existing tanks, the KLARO technical team developed a customised wastewater treatment solution. A small, separate building was constructed for the mechanical equipment, located right next to the treatment plant.
Solution with KLARO wastewater treatment plants:
- KLARO retrofit kit for existing concrete tanks
- Designed for 400 PE, 60 m³ per day
- Mechanical equipment in a high-quality machine house
