Project overview:
The Niederbauen mountain restaurant/hotel in the Swiss canton of Nidwalden is situated at around 1,500 metres above sea level and offers hikers not only a restaurant but also overnight accommodation with an idyllic view of Lake Lucerne and the surrounding mountains. Previously, there was an old septic tank right next to the building, and the odours were becoming increasingly unpleasant. With the KLARO One system, the existing single-chamber septic tank was converted into a modern, odourless treatment plant with minimal effort. All that was needed for the conversion was our flexible retrofit kit with machine technology, which made transportation easier – an important consideration given that the Berghof can only be reached by cable car. This also made sludge disposal difficult. For this reason, the decision was made at the time to expand the plant with a desludging module that can treat all the sludge. This has the advantage that all the sludge can be treated with the desludging module. The sludge is pumped into a bag and left to dry out. This makes it easier to remove the sludge at a later date.
Solution with KLARO wastewater treatment plants:
- KLARO One retrofit kit for existing single-chamber septic tanks
- Designed for 65 PE, 97.5 m³ per day
- Additional desludging module
