Project overview:
The world's northernmost wastewater treatment plant is located in Ny-Ålesund, Norway, and is, of course, a KLARO system. The settlement is largely home to an international Arctic research station, which has so far had to incur immense costs for environmental protection measures. The wastewater was discharged directly into the adjacent fjord, which affected the sensitive sensors of the local marine laboratory. When planning the new plant, we also had to take into account the significant seasonal fluctuations, as there are far fewer researchers and staff on site during the winter months.
Solution with KLARO wastewater treatment plants:
- Mobile sewage treatment plant in a 20-foot container
- Designed for 65 PE, 10 m³ per day
