Efficient wastewater treatment with the SBR process
How it works and these are the advantages
All KLARO wastewater treatment plants work with the fully biological SBR process (Sequencing Batch Reactor). In contrast to conventional systems, the processes run in a time-controlled manner in a single tank. This means that the reactor simultaneously performs the tasks of a biological reactor and a sedimentation tank. A separate primary or secondary clarifier is not required - this saves space and reduces both installation and operating costs.

Advantages that convince
- Fully biological: wastewater treatment thanks to microorganisms.
- Efficient operation: Conserves resources and saves costs thanks to optimized processes.
- Robust against hydraulic shock loads: Buffer effectively compensates for fluctuations.
- Ideal for underload operation: Can be used reliably even with low wastewater volumes.
- Reliable cleaning performance: Consistently high results, even under changing conditions.
- Excellent discharge values: Guarantees clean wastewater with optimum clarification.
- Flexible control: Simple readjustment for maximum adaptability.
Main differences to other systems
- No pumps that are prone to failure: No risk of blockages in the clarifier.
- No growth bodies: Efficient cleaning without additional structures in the tank.
- Time-controlled clarification processes: Processes run sequentially, not spatially separated.
- Secondary clarifier superfluous: Space-saving thanks to integrated sedimentation process.
- Changing water levels: Flexible adjustment depending on inflow or cycle progression.
- Level-dependent control: Demand-based control by measuring the water levels - more efficient than pure time control.
SBR wastewater treatment plants from KLARO
KLARO distinguishes between two cleaning processes
The single-stage SBR process

The fully aerated SBR process, also known as the KLARO One system, combines a compact design with aerobic sludge stabilization. This system does not require multi-chamber tanks and adapts flexibly to different pit geometries. It is perfect for operators looking for a space-saving, low-maintenance and highly efficient wastewater treatment system.
The two-stage SBR process

The two-stage SBR process, also known as the KLARO system, offers maximum efficiency for your wastewater treatment plant. With an upstream sludge and buffer storage tank, this system ensures consistent clarification and stable effluent values even with fluctuating inflow. It is ideal for domestic, commercial and larger applications that require a robust and adaptable solution.
