KLARO air lifters - wear-free pumping of water and sludge
All pumping processes in KLARO sewage treatment plants are carried out using air lifters instead of submersible pumps. This system, based on the proven mammoth pump principle, ensures trouble-free and long-lasting operation. Air lifters reliably transport water and larger solids without causing wear.
The compressed air required is generated by an air compressor, which is safely housed in the control cabinet outside the clarifier. The optimum combination of cross-section, length and blast air volume allows the conveying characteristics to be individually adapted.
Types of KLARO air lifters:
- Feed siphon - For conveying wastewater into the biological treatment process.
- Outlet siphon (clear water siphon) - Transports purified water out of the tank.
- Excess sludge siphon (return siphon) - Returns excess sludge to the pre-process.
Special features of the KLARO pneumatic lifters:
- Floating sludge excluded: No suction of floating sludge possible.
- Constant water level: Minimum water level is ensured without a float switch.
- Patented air barrier: Prevents unwanted activated sludge discharge.
- Color coding: All lifters are color-coded for easy identification.
- KLARO airlift.blue series: Specially developed for small wastewater treatment plants up to 20 PE.

KLARO aeration unit - fine bubble aeration for your wastewater treatment plant
The aeration unit is a crucial component in every wastewater treatment plant, as it ensures the sufficient oxygen supply required for the degradation processes by microorganisms. At KLARO, we use membrane aerators with compressed air, which are installed at the bottom of the tank. This solution is particularly effective as it works with fine bubbles and circulates the activated sludge effectively. In contrast to conventional surface aerators with propellers, our aeration systems offer a reliable and energy-saving solution.
Various aeration units are used for aeration, depending on the size and type of plant. These can be disk or tube diffusers, for example. We offer both weighted diffusers, which stand individually at the bottom of the tank, and air distribution systems made of robust stainless steel, to which the diffusers are attached.
KLARO only uses high-quality, low-plasticizer membrane diffusers made of EPDM, which are particularly durable and resistant.
Special features of the KLARO aeration unit:
- Fine bubble aeration: For effective oxygen supply and circulation of the activated sludge.
- Energy-efficient: Low energy consumption with high performance.
- Durable and robust: Our membrane aerators are particularly resistant.
- Easy installation: Quick and uncomplicated installation of the aerator unit.
- Easy to maintain: No mechanical or electrical parts in the waste water.
- Flexible: Adaptable to any pit geometry and tank material.

Sampling from KLARO - standard-compliant for your wastewater treatment plant
Sampling plays a central role in the monitoring and quality assurance of wastewater treatment plants. At KLARO, we offer reliable solutions for wastewater sampling that can be easily integrated into both new and existing plants. Our systems guarantee precise and standard-compliant wastewater sampling at all times to ensure the quality of the treated water.
Integrated sampling

KLARO's integrated sampling devices enable reliable sampling directly in the wastewater treatment plant. The discharge siphon conveys fresh, treated wastewater into the sampling system, while old water is displaced. Depending on the siphon dimensions, the sampling systems are available in different sizes and offer pipe connections in DN 100 and DN 150. An emergency overflow provides additional safety.
Special features of integrated sampling:
- Flexibility: effluent samples can be taken at any time, regardless of the phase of the system.
- Large volume: Sufficient space for precise sampling.
- Visibility: Grey color for easy identification of water quality.
External KLARO sampling shaft DN400

The KLARO sampling chamber DN400 is an external, separate chamber that can be installed downstream of any wastewater treatment plant. It is particularly suitable for larger wastewater treatment plants or in cases where integrated sampling is not possible. The chamber meets all the requirements of DWA A221 and is therefore a future-proof solution for any wastewater treatment plant.
Special features of the sampling chamber:
- Meets all DWA A221 requirements for standard-compliant sampling.
- Minimal effort and space requirement: Compact design for easy installation.
- Compatible connections: Inlet/outlet suitable for PVC-KG pipes.
- Flexible inlet height: Adaptable for different installations.
- No loss of height: Inlet and outlet at the same height.
- Easy handling: Small dimensions and weight for quick installation and transportation.
- Professional design: For modern and efficient sampling.
Special features of KLARO air hoses:
- High-quality material for long durability and reliability.
- Robust and durable - suitable for demanding use in wastewater treatment plants.
- Easy installation thanks to color coordination and flexible selection of lengths and diameters.

Special features of the KLARO empty pipe stopper:
- Clean and professional termination of pipe connections.
- Simple installation - quick and easy to use.
- Removable - for flexible adjustments and maintenance.
