Wastewater is basically divided into three categories:
Domestic wastewater
This wastewater is produced in private households, schools, offices and similar facilities. It mainly contains organic substances and is generally less polluted.
Commercial wastewater
This is wastewater that is produced in commercial facilities such as hotels, restaurants or petrol stations. This wastewater may contain additional contamination from cleaning agents, oils or fats.
Industrial wastewater
This particularly special form arises in industries such as milk processing, winegrowing or breweries. Industrial wastewater requires specially adapted treatment, as it often contains higher concentrations of pollutants.
